This is the most frequently asked question we get asked, here are some top 10 tips to prepare for your boudoir session.
1. Try on ALL of your outfits BEFORE your boudoir photography session.
Look, you don’t need to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on brand new sexy boudoir outfits…but of course, this is also a perfect excuse to buy yourself a hot and sexy little outfit rrriigghhht?!
Our bodies change over time so if you have to dust off a black little teddy you bought yourself a few Black Fridays ago please try it on to ensure it still fits how it should and you still feel confident and sexy in this outfit. We want you to look and feel comfortable and confident in your boudoir images so this is a very important point to make.
If you are someone who has a large selection of outfits it would be best to select those outfits that give you a confidence boost and shows you off in the best possible way.
Please ensure to remove all tags and labels.
Steam or iron your outfits and hang them to keep their shape and avoid wrinkles.
BONUS: Our friends at Knicker’s and Lace offer our clients a discount when they purchase something at their beautiful store!

2. Book your Boudoir Shoot after your Monthlies.
Super awesome and fun time of the month….not! Not sure about you but feeling crabby, bloated and crampy is not my idea of feeling empowered and sexy. So do yourself a favor and plan your boudoir photography shoot about a week after your period when you are back to feeling like yourself!
3. Drink lots and lots and lots of water!
As we all know water does magic to our skin so with that please hydrate as much as possible and avoid alcohol and salty foods about a week ahead of your boudoir shoot. This way you will feel hydrated, your skin will love it and will photograph beautifully and obviously will help in getting beautiful boudoir images!
4. Please wear loose-fitting and comfortable clothes.
This should be an easy task! We try to book your hair and makeup session at our boudoir studio late morning so that you don’t have a ton of time to squeeze into those tight jeans or super tight leggings or wear a bra for a whole day. This will help to avoid red indentations in your skin which will subsequently dampen the look of a sexy neglige. I think I speak for all women out there but it’s really nice to not have to be stuffed into restrictive clothes and just let loose and allow your skin to relax as well!
5. Bring an extra outfit or two.
Nothing worse than changing into an outfit you picked out for your boudoir shoot only for it to rip by accident on the day of your shoot! This is why I strongly recommend bringing an additional outfit to your shoot, but please still try on this extra outfit to avoid disappointment.
6. To spray tan or not…that is the question.
Please, for the love of all things holy do not spray tan at all. Unless of course, you are going for that sexy pumpkin look and this prevents additional retouching fees!
7. Basic Touch Ups/Grooming
If you wax, please do so a few dats before to avoid redness and bumpiness of your skin.
Don’t get yourself a sun burn before your shoot and use a sunscreen, nothing worse than burnt red skin and extra retouching fees.
If you’re thinking of doing a facial or any skin treatments please do not schedule those for the same week of your shoot to avoid potential allergic reactions!
8. Plan an evening out after your shoot.
If you are getting professional hair and make-up styling through us why not extend your self-love day into the evening? Plan a hot date with your partner or your squad while you are all dolled up and feeling like a supermodel! It’s not every day that we allow ourselves to be pampered so make good use of it!
9. Eat a light meal before your boudoir session.
Make sure you hydrate in the days leading up to your boudoir shoot but it is also important to have a light meal ahead of your boudoir photography session.
10. RELAX!
